They have implemented changes in their daily teaching that, although very challenging for the school organisation, are all the more beneficial for the students and their future. Students can choose a full 40 % subjects based on what they enjoy, what they are talented at and what they would like to do in the future. From a wide range of subjects, everyone can choose what interests them. They also learn better when they enjoy it.
You can even get a computer literacy certificate here. This is a certified information technology exam that students can earn during their first years of study and counts towards graduation - they have a simplified exam for this in their final year.
"Most regular state schools do not offer this option to children because it is simply extra work for them. We are happy to invest a lot of energy and money into it to make it possible for students and help them develop professionally and personally," revealed Ing. Jan Bobek.
Why sit in a pew when it's so beautiful outside?
At Digital Academy Kutná Hora, they believe that a change of environment also helps students to concentrate better. For example, since the beginning of the school year, a magnificent yurt with high walls has stood on the school grounds, which the company Nature made of materials resistant to water, wind and snow. Nothing prevents its year-round use in all weather conditions. Teaching in the yurt is very popular. It was something different, an enrichment to the lessons that energizes you, increases your attention span, and you are still in the fresh air.
For experience in Europe
Another great benefit offered by the Digital Academy is exchange stays and internships abroad. Travelling around Europe, students can experience in practice everything they have previously learned in theory. "For example, we have a student here who enjoys photography. He is studying business at our school, among other things. So we are teaching him how to use his talent in an entrepreneurial, business way,
both managerially and accounting-wise. This student went on a month-long internship to Germany, where he worked in a local photo studio. So he applied what he enjoys, photography, and at the same time, thanks to his work abroad, he also got into business in Germany. He saw how it works there and gained valuable experience in addition to his salary," revealed Ing. Jan Bobek.
Students of DA Kutná Hora have the opportunity of an internship or exchange stay abroad at least twice during their studies! "It is not an easy process to get support from the EU, but we know that it has value for students, so we are committed to it. It doesn't cost the student anything, all the organisation goes through us, food, accommodation and travel are covered by the EU grant. And they bring back money for the work they have done," explains Ing. Jan Bobek.
