ORGANISATION OF THE ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2024/2025

Number of accepted applicants:

In the school year 2024/2025, four full-time classes will be opened:

  • Czech programme - field of study 63-41-M/02 Business Academy in full-time form (max 26 pupils)
  • Czech-English programme - major 63-41-M/02 Business Academy in the full-time form, combined with a major Business (max 26 pupils)
  • Czech-English programme - major 63-41-M/02 Business Academy in the full-time form, combined with a major Business (max 26 pupils)
  • English programme - major BTEC (max 26 pupils)
 
A maximum of 104 pupils will be admitted, with a maximum of 26 pupils per class.
Into the field 63-41-M/02 Business Academy in daily form maximum 78 pupils.

Dates of admissions 1st round:

  1. Uniform Entrance Examinations in Czech language and mathematics are held 12 April 2024 a 15 April 2024, alternative dates: 29 April 2024 and 30 April 2024.

     

  1. School entrance exams held in the form of an oral interview with the candidates from 15 March 2024 to 23 April 2024 (by appointment), alternative dates: 24 April 2024 to 5 May 2024.

    Further rounds, if any, will be announced only if there are vacancies after the previous rounds.

Submitting an application for the 1st round of the admission procedure:

There are 3 ways to apply:

Electronic submission:

1. Log in to the system and you choose your child (the system is connected to the population register and will be accessible from 15 January 2024). Applications can be submitted from 1 February 2024. To log in to the system, you must set up your electronic identity

2. Select 3 disciplines without talent testwhere you want to apply (see the system for complete information about the fields). 

3. You select the fields in order of priority (i.e. you place the school you would most like to get into in 1st place). 

4. Upload attachments (photos, scans). In the system you will see what attachments the school requires for the field of study. For us, it's report cards from both semesters of 8th grade and the first half of 9th grade. A medical examination is not necessary for us. 

5. You will confirm the submission of applications. You will receive a confirmation of your application by e-mail. Applications must be submitted no later than until 20 February 2024.

Submission by extract from the system:

1. Even without an e-identity, you can complete the application online. You can access the system without logging in and fill in all the details about yourself and your child. 

2. Select 3 disciplines without talent testwhere you want to apply (see the system for complete information about the fields). 

3. You select the fields in order of priority (i.e. you place the school you would most like to get into in 1st place). 

4. Upload attachments (photos, scans). In the system you will see what attachments the school requires for the field of study. For us, it's report cards from both semesters of 8th grade and the first half of 9th grade. A medical examination is not necessary for us. 

5. You will confirm the submission of applications. You will receive a message with the completed application form (listing) to the e-mail address you entered. 

6. Extract of the application form print (without attachments), sign and deliver (by data box, in person or by post) to each school listed on the statement.

Submission of a paper form:

1. You print out a paper form for each school you're applying to. You can download the secondary school application form here: Application for secondary school

2. In the form fill in all the details about yourself and your child 

3. Retrieved from school and course details and fill in is on the form (exact name, address, code and name of the field. For our school you can find here: Digital Academy - Business Academy, s.r.o., Pod Školou 167, 284 01 Kutná Hora - Malín; 63-41-M/02 Business Academy 

4. You select the fields in order of priority (i.e. you place the school you would most like to get into in 1st place). The same order of majors must be maintained on all forms. 

5. For each application you will attach annexes in documentary form (according to the school's conditions). For us it is the report card from both semesters of 8th grade and the first half of 9th grade. A medical examination is not required in our school. 

6. Paper application form with attachments delivered by (by mail, in person or by post) to each school listed on the application form.

The deadline for applications is 20 February 2024.

Invitation to the entrance exam:

Candidates will receive an invitation to the single and school entrance examinations at least 14 days before the examination, either by sending a message in the system (for electronically submitted applications) or by email (for statements and forms).

The distribution for the single entrance examination, as well as the preparation of these tests and the evaluation of the test results, is provided by the Centre for the Determination of Educational Results (CZVV, Cermat). The distribution will be primarily based on the distance from the school to the applicant's place of residence and secondarily on the capacity of the school for the single entrance examination.

Determining the order:

The new ranking will be determined after the alternative deadline.

15 May 2024 the principal of the secondary school publishes the results of the admission procedure (dahora.cz website, notice board in front of the school building). Enrolment forms are no longer used. Decisions on admission or non-admission are not sent to applicants. Applicants can see the results of all the courses to which they have applied after the verification process has been completed in the system. If a candidate does not wish to enter the field of study to which he/she has been admitted, he/she will usually submit a 'renunciation' of his/her place in that field, and the school will enter this in the system. Only then will the guardian or the applicant be able to apply for a second or further round in other schools or subjects.

ADMISSION CRITERIA FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2024/2025

Pursuant to Section 60 of Act No.561/2004 Coll., on pre-school, primary, secondary, higher vocational and other education, as amended, in accordance with Decree No.422/2023 Coll., laying down details on the organization of the admission procedure for education in secondary schools, as amended, I hereby establish the following criteria for admission to education at Digital Academy - Obchodní akademie, s.r.o., Pod Školou 167, Kutná Hora - Malín for the school year 2024/25:

1. Candidates applying for the first year of the 63-41-M/02 Business Academy at Daily form of study must take the Unified Entrance Examination and the School Entrance Examination. They will be admitted to study on the basis of the overall assessment result and until capacity is reached.

2. In the event that the capacity is not filled, candidates will be admitted on the basis of the results of the Unified Entrance Examination and the School Entrance Examination until the capacity is filled.

Method of evaluation:

1. The maximum number of points that can be awarded is 166. The school has not set a minimum score for admission.

2. The result of the single entrance examination (published by the CZVV institution) with the weight 60% will be included in the overall assessment of the admission procedure. The total number of points that can be obtained is 100 (Czech language 50 points and mathematics 50 points).

3. The average grade from the report card (1st and 2nd semesters of grade 8 and 1st semester of grade 9 of primary school or the equivalent year of a multi-year grammar school, the average of all compulsory subjects except behaviour is calculated) is also included in the overall grade and has a weight of 10%. The total number of points that can be obtained is 16. An overall average of 1.00-1.50 will be awarded 16 points, an overall average of 1.51-2.00 will be awarded 10 points and an overall average of 2.01-2.50 will be awarded 5 points.

4. The result of the school entrance exam is weighted 30% in the overall assessment, a total of 50 points can be obtained.

School entrance exam:

In accordance with Section 60 of Act No.561/2004 Coll., on pre-school, primary, secondary, higher vocational and other education, as amended, in accordance with Section 10 of Decree No.422/2023 Coll., on admission to secondary education, the school director has decided that the school entrance examination will take place in the form of an oral interview before an approved three-member committee. The content of the oral interview is mainly to determine the applicant's motivation to study at our school, the subtopics of the interview are motivation to study, general communication and communication in English. This form of examination is weighted 30% in the overall assessment.

Other admission requirements:

1. Meeting the conditions medical fitness is not a prerequisite for admission to education, the school not required a doctor's report on medical fitness.

2. Applicants with a disability must provide proof of this fact in accordance with Section 3, paragraph 1, letter i) of Decree No. 422/2023 Coll., as amended. If an applicant's disability or health disadvantage is to be taken into account in the admission test, the application must include a report from the school counselling centre containing a statement recommending an appropriate procedure for the admission test (Section 24 of Decree No 422/2023, as amended).

3. If the applicant has been abroad for a long period of time and has also fulfilled compulsory school attendance there for 9 years, he/she must submit a certificate from the last two years in the original version together with the application for secondary education. The school does not require a certified translation of these documents unless the head teacher decides otherwise in individual cases. If the applicant has successfully completed primary education before completing compulsory schooling (e.g. 8 years) abroad, then he/she must submit, no later than on the day of entry to study, a document of recognition of equivalence or a document of recognition of the validity of the foreign certificate in the Czech Republic, the so-called nostrification (§108 of the Education Act).

4. Applicants with Czech or foreign citizenship who have received their previous education in a school outside the Czech Republic are admitted to the admission procedure projected at their request according to §20 (4) of the Education Act, admission Czech language exam. These applicants' knowledge of the Czech language will be verified by an oral interview.

5. The evaluation of candidates who will not take the uniform examination in Czech language and literature pursuant to Section 20(4) of the Education Act is based on reduced evaluation (§26 of Decree No. 422/2023 Coll.)which does not include the results of the Czech Language and Literature test of the Unified Examination. Applicants are then placed in the final ranking of all applicants in the same position as in the reduced ranking of all applicants.

6. Every participant in the administrative procedure (i.e. applicant) has the right to inspect the test results and completed record sheets at the CZVV after proving his/her identity by means of electronic identification or by entering an identification code (Section 6 of Decree No.422/2023 Coll.) and to comment on them before the date of the decision on admission or non-admission to study (Section 19 of Decree No.422/2023 Coll.).

Results of the admission procedure:

1. 15 May 2024, the results of the admission procedure will be published on www.dahora.cz/vysledky (under the assigned registration number of the applicant). Enrolment forms are no longer used.

2. The decision of acceptance or non-acceptance is not sent to the applicants.

3. Applicants can see their results in all the fields they have applied for after the verification process has been completed in the system. In case the candidate does not want to enter the field of education where he/she has been admitted, he/she submits a "waiver" of his/her place. The guardian or the candidate then has the option of applying for a second or further round in other schools or fields.

4. Enrolment cards are abolished at all schools from 1 January 2024.

5. Further rounds of admissions may be announced in individual fields of study only if there are still vacancies available after the previous rounds.

6. The applicant's legal representative may file an appeal against the decision not to admit the applicant to study within three working days of the date of delivery of the decision to the regional office by submitting it to the director of Digital Academy - Obchodní akademie, s. r. o. Pursuant to Section 82, paragraph 2 of Act No. 500/2004 Coll., the Administrative Code, as amended, the appeal must contain information about the decision against which it is directed, the extent to which it is contested and the grounds for the contradiction with legal regulations or the incorrectness of the decision or the procedure that preceded it.
